Reet Yorkshire Cheesy Scones

Air fryer lovers, this one’s for you! Have you ever made scones in your air fryer? We just did, and let’s just say… they didn’t last long

If you love quick, cheesy, and delicious, you NEED to try this.

Ingredients
200g Self Raising Flour, plus extra for dusting

1tsp Baking Powder

1tsp English Mustard Powder

75g Unsalted butter

120g mature cheddar cheese

70ml milk, plus extra for brushing

Cream Cheese

Reet Yorkshire Red Onion Relish

Method

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl with the baking and mustard powders, then add a generous pinch of sea salt.  Cube up the butter, then use your thumbs and fingertips to rub it into the flour mixture until you have little cornflake-sized pieces.
  2. Add 100g of the Cheddar, then mix everything together. Make a well in the middle, pour in the milk, and bring together into a soft, dry dough, using your hands, add a tiny extra splash of milk, if needed.

  3. Turn out on to a flour-dusted surface and quickly work the dough into a 3cm-thick round, then cut into 6 triangular wedges. Lightly brush the tops with milk, grate over the remaining cheese.

  4. Rub the air-fryer shelf with a little olive oil, then preheat the air fryer to 180°C for 2 minutes. Evenly space in the scones and cook for 12 minutes, or until golden.

  5. Cool on a wire rack.  To serve smother with cream cheese and add a generous dollop of Reet Yorkshire Red Onion Relish.
