Based in the cathedral city of Ripon, North Yorkshire, Reet Yorkshire Food was launched by its’ owner Martin Bennett in October 2020.
The purpose built unit will work to Salsa standards from the outset with a view to attaining Salsa Accreditation at the earliest opportunity.
Martin has worked in the food industry for the past 40 years, starting his working life in his local Tesco Cheese and Bacon manufacturing plant and progressing into many areas of the food industry including Manufacturing / Sales / Operations / and Marketing sectors.
Where it began
For the past four years Martin worked for a manufacturer of artisan foods, but when Covid arrived in 2020 he was furloughed and subsequently made redundant. During this time he decided to “take the plunge” and open his own artisan food business.
Having a passion for jams, marmalades and chutneys, this felt the natural path to follow and Reet Yorkshire Food was founded.
Aspiring to create a strong brand, which would stand out on the shelves, we worked with a local brand specialist and development team based in Yorkshire. The brand expresses our passion for robust flavours and colours.
As a new start-up business, we have decided to keep the range small (for now) and produce five great flavours of each Jam, Marmalade, Chutneys and Relishes. We have also produced a range for Christmas including Mincemeat, Festive Jam, Festive Marmalade and Festive Chutney.
We use only the finest ingredients and wherever possible we use locally sourced Yorkshire products.
